As a Major God, Poseidon focuses on improving the player's economy as well as their cavalry units. Here are the unique perks that gamers will get access to if they choose Poseidon:
- Militia appear outside Poseidon's razed buildings
- Poseidon's Calvary, Caravans, and Myth Units have +0.4 Speed
- Poseidon's Stables and Markets are 30 percent cheaper to build
- Poseidon's Market exchange rates are improved by 15 percent
- Poseidon's first Dock grants a free Hippocampus unit
Poseidon Tech Tree
As god of the sea, Poseidon works best on maps with water, but that doesn't mean players won't be able to dominate on land. By worshipping Poseidon, gamers get access to a varied range of naval and land units.
Archaic Age
Age of Mythology: Retold games start in the Archaic Age. This age truly defines Poseidon, as it's when gamers receive all the unique Poseidon god powers, units, and upgrades.
- Lure (god power)
Lure is Poseidon's first god power in Age of Mythology: Retold. It allows players to place a stone that lures animals from a reasonable distance, making it the perfect spot to gather Food. It also works as a drop-off point for Food, so Villagers don't have to waste time taking it to the Town Center or a Granary.
- Hippocampus (naval scout unit)
Once gamers build a Dock as Poseidon, they'll receive a Hippocampus, which is a peaceful naval scout unit that spawns upon being eliminated. This means that gamers can freely explore the water and simply come back if they run into any trouble.
- Militia (land infantry unit)
Poseidon can spawn a unique Infantry unit: the Militia. These men are eager to defend their village so they appear whenever a building is attacked and destroyed.
- Lord of Horses (upgrade)
For 75 Food and 5 Favor, Poseidon will improve the line of sight of cavalry and scout units by 4 and make it so they regenerate health at a rate of 0.5 HP per second.
Classical Age
During the Classical Age, gamers who picked Poseidon can choose Ares or Hermes as a Minor God.
