AEW Fight Forever falls somewhere between a fighting game and a wrestling sim. It doesn't entirely have the back-and-forth experience of a match in WWF No Mercy or WWE 2K23. However, its strengths lie in the wilder and more extreme wrestling matches where players can use the environment to gain the upper hand, and in that sense, it resembles AKI's later work on the Def Jam fighting series.
The violent matches are where AEW Fight Forever shines, and performing high-impact moves like throwing opponents into AEW's equivalent of the Titan Tron makes this new series a great alternative to the WWE 2K series. This guide will outline how to smash opponents into the LED stage screen.
How To Smash Opponents Into The Stage Screen in AEW Fight Forever
The stage screen is the backdrop for where the wrestlers make their big entrances. While not as large as the Titan Tron in WWE, it's the perfect weapon in AEW Fight Forever. It adds more drama to the match and is hilarious when performing against friends and family in wrestling contests. Use the following steps to smash opponents into the AEW stage screen:
- Pick a match where the referee can't end it on a count out, like a Falls Count Anywhere match. The wrestler needs time to make it up the ramp and continue fighting without getting counted out by the ref.
- Pick wrestlers like Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley, or Lance Archer - wrestlers with good stats and can take a beating.
- Wear down the opponent in the ring and reduce their momentum gauge. It's a good idea to hit them with at least one signature and finisher move in AEW Fight Forever.
- Grab the wrestler with the A button on Xbox, the X button on PlayStation, B on the Switch, or K button on the keyboard. Press and hold the LT/L2/LZ or N on the keyboard to strong Irish Whip the player's opponent outside the ring.
Outside The Ring
- Follow the opponent to the ringside, grab them with A/X/B/K, and whip them up the ramp with the LT/L2/LZ/N on the keyboard.
- Alternatively, the computer-controlled opponent should follow the player's wrestler up the ramp.
- Use stronger grapples and attacks, then use signature and special moves to wear the AEW opponent down.
- Grab the opponent with the A/X/B/K button and press the LT/L2/LZ/N and the L Stick or WASD on a keyboard to throw them into the screen.
- The opponent will be stunned against the screen. Press the A/X/B/K button to throw them into the screen. The screen will break after three throw attacks.
That's everything an AEW Fight Forever player needs to smash and slam their opponents through the stage screen.
AEW Fight Forever is available June 29th, 2023, for the PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
