As a wrestling promotion that prides itself on offering an alternative to the WWE, many matches fans can enjoy are more like hardcore matches like those from ECW. This extends to the playable gimmick matches in AEW Fight Forever, like Exploding Barbed Wire and Falls Count Anywhere.
Even if fans aren't keen on the more extreme contests, they are a lot of fun when recreated in video games. The Falls Count Anywhere matches in AEW Fight Forever allow players to violently attack their opponents by slamming them through the guard rails and barriers at ringside. This guide will show fans how to throw their opponent through the guard rail in AEW Fight Forever.
How To Slam An Opponent Through The Guardrail in AEW Fight Forever
Slamming opponents through the environment in AEW Fight Forever is more accessible and much less fiddly than throwing opponents through the barricade/guardrail in WWE 2K23.
However, players must select the correct match types and get their AEW wrestlers into the proper position to pull the moves off. Use the following steps to slam opponents through the barricade/guardrail every time:
- Pick a match type that allows the AEW wrestlers to fight outside the ring without being counted out, like a Falls Count Anywhere match.
- Choose a favorite AEW wrestler that's good in hardcore matches, like Jon Moxley and Lance Archer. Wrestlers with good stats, like Kenny Omega, will also work just fine for pulling off these moves.
- When the match starts, focus on weakening the opponent and getting their momentum low or in the danger zone. Otherwise, they will reverse the move and potentially hit the player's wrestler with the attack instead.
- Press the LT on PlayStation, L2 on Xbox, or LZ on the Switch near the ropes to Irish Whip opponents to the outside. Or hold down the grapple them first with the X button on PS, A button on Xbox, or B on the Switch, and then long press the LT/L2/LZ button to throw them outside.
- Alternatively, attack them near the ropes so they lean stunned against them. Run at them with the Circle/B/A button to throw them over the ropes to the outside.
At Ringside
- With the opponent outside the ring, light-whip them into the barrier with the RT/R2/RZ button or strong-whip with LT/L2/LZ.
- The opponent should be stunned against the guardrail.
- There is a small window of opportunity to grab them with the A/X/B button to execute the slam through the guardrail.
- The action can be repeated with other guardrails surrounding the ring.
AEW Fight Forever launches on June 29 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
