  • The game was inspired by Nintendo 64-era wrestling games and received mixed reviews and little interest from fans upon release.

All Elite Wrestling has announced a price cut for AEW Fight Forever across all platforms that will bring its price down from $59.99 to $29.99. AEW Fight Forever is the third AEW video game and the first to be released on traditional home consoles. The preceding games, AEW Casino: Double or Nothing and AEW Elite General Manager, are Android and iOS titles.

The AEW Fight Forever game was announced not long after the formation of the promotion itself. It was teased that the game would be taking inspiration from classic Nintendo 64-era wrestling games like WWF No Mercy, as opposed to the more realistic simulator-style WWE 2K series. After years of waiting, AEW Fight Forever was finally released in 2023 to mixed reviews and general disinterest from fans. This is evidenced by the game's all-time peak player count of 1,428 on Steam, and the fact that its peak player count in the past 24 hours was a mere 13 players.

It's possible that AEW Fight Forever's new price drop will give its player count a boost. Starting February 5, AEW Fight Forever is being discounted to $29.99 at "participating retailers." The price drop is supposed to apply to all versions of the game, meaning fans should be able to get Fight Forever cheap no matter if they're playing on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, or PC. The game's price has yet to be discounted on digital storefronts, and it's unclear if it will be, but fans should now be able to get physical copies much cheaper at least.

AEW Fight Forever Price Drop Announced

This move is just the latest attempt to bring players to AEW Fight Forever. Despite the game's low player count, AEW Fight Forever has been supported post-launch with DLC packs that have added new wrestlers to the roster, not to mention the free update that added the Stadium Stampede battle royale mode to the game. Unfortunately, it seems this new content has done little to increase interest in AEW Fight Forever, even with heavy promotion from the company itself.

Considering how AEW Fight Forever has turned out, it will be interesting to see if the company produces another console game. Regardless, there are some new mobile games for AEW fans to check out, with AEW Rise to the Top having just launched this past January and AEW Figure Fighters in active development for release on Android and iOS later this year.
