The video was posted on January 11 on TikTok and soon started spreading among anime fans. As of the time of writing, it has reached over 5.8 million views. What makes this a unique and cute video is that the girl has a birthmark similar to Todoroki's — a feature that makes her love this character, as she joyfully says, "He has a birthmark like me!":

Although the video is trending among international fans, no one could have imagined it would eventually reach Kohei Horikoshi himself! Yuki Kaji recently posted on his social media about it, stating that Horikoshi sent the video to him:

Horikoshi-sensei sent me a video. It featured a girl with a birthmark similar to Todoroki's.

She is holding a plush toy of him, saying "Just like me!" With a cute smile.

Fan Response to the Video and Kaji's Post

Most top comments on the video are supportive of the girl, with people saying things like, "Shoto would love this!", and even recommending other series with characters that have facial birthmarks, like Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender).

Fans have also been supportive in the replies to Kaji's post, even sending drawings of Todoroki interacting with the girl. Some also stated they were happy to know Horikoshi saw the video! There's a chance this story will undergo further development (in a good way).

My Hero Academia Anime Coming in 2025

Besides cute videos on social media, My Hero Academia fans have massive news coming this year.

In April, My Hero Academia Vigilantes anime adaptation will start broadcasting in Japan and overseas — Crunchyroll has already confirmed it will stream the series. Kenichi Suzuki (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure remake by David Production) is directing the spin-off adaptation.

Then, in Fall 2025 Anime Season (probably around October), the final season of the My Hero Academia anime will debut, adapting the last arc of the story (whose ending didn't satisfy a good portion of the fans).
