Like Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon before it, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms airs new episodes every Sunday on HBO. That said, HBO is shaking things up this week for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 4, "Seven". The New England Patriots will be playing the Seattle Seahawks on February 8 at 6:30pm ET in Super Bowl LX.
Rather than risk the game running long and cutting into the new episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' premiere, HBO has shuffled around the release date for AKOTSK Episode 4. Fortunately, instead of delaying the episode like Game of Thrones occasionally did in earlier seasons to avoid holiday weekends, HBO is releasing A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 4 two days early.

When Does A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 4 Come Out?
So that HBO does not have to compete with the 2026 Super Bowl this Sunday, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 4 will be available to stream on HBO Max on Friday, February 6 at 12am PT / 3am ET. While the episode will be available early for streaming, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will still air on HBO on February 8 at its regular time of 7pm PT / 10pm ET for anyone who doesn't particularly care for American football.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: A Trial of Seven, Explained
The Trial of Seven is a rarity in Westeros, and one of the most violent ways of proving someone's innocence.
Based on how much of The Hedge Knight novella A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has adapted so far, Episode 4 will realistically cover Aerion challenging Dunk to a Trial of Seven, and Dunk tracking down his six champions for the trial. Episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdom are tightly paced and cap out at roughly half-an-hour, so Episode 4 will likely not cover the trial itself, leaving Episode 5 as the season's action-packed climax.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Only Has Three Episodes Left
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been an amazing return to Westeros and has already proven itself to be a better spin-off than House of the Dragon in just three short episodes. Sadly, with the premiere of Episode 4 on Friday, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will officially pass its halfway point for Season 1. The Dunk and Egg novellas are very short, and barely have enough material to cover six-episode seasons, so it's a miracle Season 1 has been as good as it has been with its new scenes.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Could Run For 10 Seasons, Longer Than Game of Thrones
George R.R. Martin gave A Knight of the Seven Kingdom's showrunner 10 to 12 outlines so HBO can finish the series before GRRM writes more books.
Considering how long The Sworn Sword and The Mystery Knight are, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Seasons 2 and 3 will more than likely keep the episode count at 6 apiece, at roughly half an hour per episode. There are no novellas after The Mystery Knight, but George R.R. Martin has provided the show's writing team with outlines for future Tales of Dunk and Egg that cover the duo's whole life, so the show can keep on going assuming George doesn't write a fourth novella by the time AKOTSK Season 3 finishes airing.
