Having a mode of transport in 7 Days To Die Version 1.0 is a must. The maps in this game are huge, and trying to get from one end to the other on foot is a lengthy task. From the bicycle to the 4x4, there are several vehicles that players can get their hands on to make exploring the map easier and more efficient.

Prior to the release of version 1.0, console players could only get a minibike. Now, there are a total of five unique vehicles that can help players conquer the wasteland. This guide will go through how to craft each vehicle in the game, giving players options when it comes to getting around.

7 Days To Die: How To Craft Forged Steel

Forged steel is an important resource in 7 Days to Die, needed to craft weapons, vehicles, and more. Here's how to get it.

The Bicycle

The Bicycle in 7 Days To Die
  • Storage: 9
  • Max Number Of Seats: 1
  • Speed: 8 m/s

The first vehicle that players are most likely to own is a bicycle. It's also the cheapest to maintain, as it doesn't require any fuel. The only cost involved in a bicycle is the occasional repair kit to fix it when it gets a little beaten up. By default, a bicycle comes with 9 slots of storage space, which can be handy when you are weighed down by loot. It's important to note that all vehicles can be picked up and placed in the player's inventory, but only when there's nothing in the vehicle's storage compartment.

Unfortunately, there aren't many mod options for the bicycle. While this could change in the future, at the moment, the only thing that players can add to the bicycle is a headlight. They can also customize the paint.

As for getting a bicycle, there's a chance to be awarded when you complete missions for various traders. You can also craft a bicycle. To unlock the ability to craft a bike, you'll need to read 5 Vehicle Adventure magazines. You can find these in book crates, mailboxes, book piles, and as random loot. You can also buy magazines from traders. One great place to find Vehicle Adventure books is inside Pass-N-Gas containers. To craft a bicycle, you'll need the following materials:

  • 2 Wheels
  • 1 Bicycle Chassis
  • 1 Handlebars
  • 1 Mechanical Parts

You may be able to find all the components either as loot, mission rewards, or as items being sold by traders. Yu can also craft most of the bicycle components yourself using a forge and a workbench. If you want to make crafting cheaper, it's worth investing some points in the Grease Monkey perk to reduce the cost of crafting vehicle parts.

The Minibike

The Minibike in 7 Days To Die
  • Storage: 27
  • Max Number Of Seats: 2
  • Speed: 9 m/s

The minibike is the second vehicle that most players will craft. Before you can craft one of these, you'll need to read 20 Vehicle Adventure magazines. The minibike comes with 27 storage spaces, which is a big upgrade from the bicycle. It has two speeds: a standard one, and an extra fast speed activated by hitting the same button you use to run and pedal faster on the bicycle. That said, you'll use more fuel when using the faster speed setting.

The Minibike is much faster than the bicycle and is great for navigating through off-road areas. It has three modification slots and one cosmetic slot. The mod options are:

  • Vehicle Off-Road Headlights Mod
  • Vehicle Super Charger Mod
  • Vehicle Reserve Fuel Tank Mod
  • Vehicle Expanded Seating Mod
  • Vehicle Fuel Saver Mod

To craft a minibike, you'll need the following components. Like all the other vehicles on this list, you can either craft each part individually, or you can try your luck with looting and trader inventories.

  • 2 Wheels
  • 1 Minibike Chassis
  • 1 Minibike Handlebars
  • 1 Engine
  • 1 Lead Car Battery

The Motorcycle

  • Storage: 36
  • Max Number Of Seats: 2
  • Speed: 14m/s

The motorbike is bigger, faster, and stronger than the minibike. It's also much more expensive to craft. Before being able to put this vehicle together, you'll need to read 45 copies of the Vehicle Adventure magazine.

Finding Magazines in 7 Days To Die
7 Days To Die: The Best Ways To Get Magazines

Magazines are critical for expanding your crafting recipes in 7 Days to Die. Here's how to get this valuable resource quickly.

All the mods that can be applied to the minibike can also be applied to the motorcycle. You can also craft the Vehicle Armor Mod to increase the motorcycle's durability. The motorcycle has 36 storage slots, and is much more durable than the minibike. Since it is bigger than the minibike, it can be a little harder to control, especially when going fast. To craft a motorcycle, you'll need the following items:

  • 2 Wheels
  • 1 Motorcycle Chassis
  • 1 Motorcycle Handlebars
  • 1 Engine
  • 1 Lead Car Battery

While the list of items is fairly similar to the minibike, crafting the motorcycle chassis and handlebars is considerably more expensive than crafting those parts for the minibike.

The 4x4

The 4x4 in 7 Days To Die
  • Storage: 81
  • Max Number Of Seats: 6
  • Speed: 14 m/s

The 4x4 is the only car that players can drive in 7 Days to Die. To unlock the ability to craft one, you'll need to read 70 Vehicle Adventure magazines. The 4x4 has the same speed as the bike, but it has four seats by default, which is great when playing with friends. With a mod, the 4x4 can have a maximum of 6 seats. The 4x4 has a whopping 81 storage slots, which makes it the best vehicle in the game for holding all of your looted goodies.

While you can't apply the Vehicle Armor Mod to the 4x4, all the other mods for the motorcycle are viable options. You can also craft a Vehicle Plow Mod, which will allow you to drive through hordes of zombies with relative ease.

To craft the 4x4, you'll need:

  • 1 4x4 Truck Chassis
  • 1 Truck Accessories
  • 4 Wheels

To craft these pieces, you'll need plenty of additional items, like electrical parts, mechanical parts, springs, and more. To get these components, you can take apart broken vehicles with a wrench and salvage the scraps.

The Gyrocopter

Gyrocopter in 7 Days To Die
  • Storage: 45
  • Max Number Of Seats: 2
  • Speed: 15 m/s

Outside of third-party mods, the Gyrocopter is the only flying vehicle in 7 Days To Die. With that in mind, it will come as no surprise to learn that this is the most expensive vehicle to craft and maintain. To craft the gyrocopter, you will need to max out your Vehicle skill by reading 100 Vehicle Adventure magazines. The Gyrocopter seats two people, and is the fastest vehicle in the game. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to add more seats, nor can you add the plow mod. Aside from that, you can apply all the other vehicle mods to the gyrocopter.

The Gyrocopter has 45 storage slots, which is hardly more than half the capacity of the 4x4. However, the fact that it flies makes up for its smaller storage. Learning how to fly can be a bit of a challenge, but once you've mastered it, you can get anywhere on the map pretty quickly. To craft the gyrocopter, you'll need:

  • 3 Wheels
  • 1 Gyrocopter Chassis
  • 1 Gyrocopter Accessories
  • 1 Engine
  • 1 Lead Car Battery
