Most players will try to set up a forge within the first few days of their playthrough. A forge gives players the ability to smelt materials and make things like ammo, cement, and forged iron. One of the other materials that can be crafted in a forge is forged steel. This is the toughest craftable material in the game. Not only is it used for crafting things like steel doors and steel blocks, but it is also required for crafting a plethora of late-game weapons, armor pieces, and vehicle parts.

Before players can start producing forged steel, they'll need to put a crucible in their forge. Newer players may not know how or where to get a crucible. This article will go through all there is to know about getting and crafting crucibles.

How To Get A Crucible

A Trader Selling A Crucible In 7 Days To Die

The first and most common way to obtain a crucible is to buy one from a trader. These are very costly items, so be sure to save plenty of dukes. Also, in order to have the chance to purchase a crucible, you'll need to have a relatively high loot stage. It is unlikely that you'll find a crucible being sold by a trader during the first couple of weeks of your playthrough.

To increase your loot stage, you can invest in skills like Lucky Looter. Your loot stage will also naturally increase as you play. To check your loot stage, pull up your character menu and look at Core Character Stats.

Something else you can do to increase the odds of finding a crucible in a trader's inventory is to invest points in the skill Daring Adventurer. This skill will increase the quality of items that are sold by traders, which will increase the chance of you finding a crucible in a trader's inventory. If you are very lucky, there is a small chance that you'll find a crucible either in a loot container or as a mission reward. While this is very rare, it does happen occasionally.
