Summary
- Raven Software's Singularity is back on the Xbox store for PC, priced at $29.99.
- The game isn't backward compatible or on Game Pass yet.
- Speculation arises that Singularity could come to Game Pass soon. However, this has not be confirmed.
The Raven Software developed Singularity has been relisted on the Xbox store after being removed as part of the Xbox 360 store closure. Raven Software is one of the development studios owned by Activision-Blizzard, which is now under the Xbox banner. The studio is best known for its work on the Call of Duty franchise, including the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Before Activision shifted the team’s focus to Call of Duty, Raven Software developed numerous popular games throughout the 1990s into the 2000s. Titles including Hexen, Soldier of Fortune, and Star Wars: Jedi Knight were well-received by critics and fans alike. Thanks to Microsoft’s buyout of Activision-Blizzard, one of its more underrated games from the Xbox 360 era has been relisted on the Xbox digital store.
New Xbox Bundle Includes Delisted Sonic Game
Sonic fans on Xbox are given another chance to grab a previously delisted Xbox 360 Sonic the Hedgehog title as part of a new bundle.
As spotted by Klobrille on social media, the first-person shooter Singularity has reappeared on the Xbox store for PC after being delisted when the Xbox 360 store closed in July 2024. Singularity first appeared across PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in 2010, pitched as a first-person shooter combined with survival horror and supernatural elements. The game had a positive reaction from critics, although it failed to find mass appeal upon its release, partly thanks to its comparison to the Bioshock franchise.
Singularity Relisted on the Xbox Store for PC
Fans who did play Singularity have expressed their delight that the underrated shooter is back on sale. The game is currently up for sale on the Xbox store at $29.99, although it is only available for PC players. Unfortunately, Singularity isn’t part of Microsoft’s backward compatibility program, meaning those who purchased the game physically or on the Xbox 360 store cannot play the game on current-gen Xbox consoles.
It might be disappointing to fans that the 14-year-old title isn’t available on consoles through backward compatibility or Game Pass. This has led some gamers to speculate that Microsoft may have reintroduced Singularity in readiness to release Activision-Blizzard games onto the Game Pass service. While fans don't know the full list of games coming to the subscription service, Microsoft has already added some titles including Diablo 4, and the soon-to-be-released Black Ops 6 will appear as a Day One title.
With the reintroduction of Singularity, fans remain optimistic that Raven Software will one day revisit one of the Xbox 360 era’s hidden gems. In the immediate future, Raven Software has been assisting Treyarch in developing Call of Duty Black Ops 6, which will be released across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S consoles on October 25. Recently, players were invited to a beta test of Black Ops 6 which generated positive feedback, particularly surrounding the improved variety of gameplay options on offer.
